A tribute to the ones working not just on Saturday, but Sunday and even public holiday.

Why do we have to work so long, while our bookings are so short? Why can't we be booked for a longer period? Isn't that simpy absurd? Having no OT pay is bad enough, and to make things worse, our OT hours claim are perhaps at a recovery rate of 20% or less? What logic? It's not that I want to condemn the system, but the system deserves to be condemned.

Targets are set so as to be met. If impossible targets are set, then why bother in the first place, since it's not going to materialize, except by laying down one's life. Then, the question is, why would I want to lay down 100% of my life? Am I born to lay down my life for work? Yes, to a certain extent, but more importantly, my family and friends, and the people who need me. Workers are easily replaceable, but not you and me. Works can be accomplished by anyone, not just you and me. But you and me, being unique individuals who love and are loved, cannot be subsituted by anything or anyone else. People need you, not the work!

There are times and seasons in life, a time to work, a time to rest. A time to learn, a time to unlearn. Perhaps, now is the time to learn, hence the unimaginable working hours. No matter what, we're not alone, because we have one another to hold on to. And as we hold on, I know our dreams will never die...
