I was supposed to meet up with Wan Teck, Pei Pei, Jia Lin, Jie Hui, David and Pei Shan for steamboat last night, but..
I felt really weak after blood donation in the afternoon. The donation drive was organized by Singapore Power Building, so I signed up for it coz the last time round I was rejected! I chose to draw blood from my left hand, which was the fatal mistake! Because the mid-vein on my left hand was smaller than the needle, the nurse had no choice but to draw from the side-vein. The problem with this vein is that it MOVES! So while the needle went in about 1.5cm deep or so, the veined MOVED! Oh man, so the needle just went up, down, left and right in search of my side-vein! Finally after 3min of terrifying experience with the needle still inside, she called the most senior nurse. I recognized the senior nurse, saw her on various occasions. So, she finally found the vein and there I was, looking absolutely like an artiste without any make-up.
As usual, the blood flow was slow. My left hand was totally numb by then, so I had no strength to pump pressure. This is probably the most terrifying blood donation experience I ever head. Despite being the 7th time, I'm still fearful of the 3 needles. One being the finger pricking one, followed by anastetic and eventually the thick one used to draw blood. Nonetheless, this will not drown my anticipation for my 8th donation...
After I reached home at about 1915hr, I removed the bandage and lo! Blood was still flowing out of the wound after almost 5hrs! I was stunt! So I jumped into the bed and here I am, resurrected...
